Massage Therapist - Part Time

Located 15 minutes from Chapel Hill, our property is one of the original Relais & Chateaux destinations in North America since 1980, complete with an award-winning fine-dining restaurant, luxury 32-room inn, spa, boutique shops, a beer and pizza garden, events spaces, and one of the state’s last remaining independent bookstores.

The Spa at Fearrington is seeking a skilled, warm and service-oriented part-time Massage Therapist to join our team. This position is ideal for a licensed professional who is passionate about wellness, attentive to individual guest needs and committed to providing an exceptional spa experience.

Our Massage Therapists deliver thoughtful, personalized treatments in a peaceful and welcoming environment while maintaining the high standards of care and hospitality for which Fearrington Village is known.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional massage and body treatments tailored to each guest’s needs and preferences

• Consult with guests before treatments to identify concerns, contraindications and desired outcomes

• Maintain a calm, welcoming and professional treatment environment

• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure they remain clean, organized and fully stocked

• Follow all sanitation, safety and spa protocols

• Maintain accurate guest treatment notes and protect guest confidentiality

• Educate guests about appropriate aftercare, wellness practices and relevant spa products or services

• Communicate effectively with spa reception and fellow team members to ensure a seamless guest experience

• Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled appointments, meetings and training sessions

• Assist with light departmental duties as needed

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina massage and bodywork therapy license in good standing

• Professional liability insurance

• Previous experience in a luxury spa, resort or hospitality environment is preferred

• Knowledge of multiple massage modalities and the ability to customize treatments

• Warm, polished and professional demeanor

• Excellent communication and guest-service skills

• Dependable, organized and attentive to detail

• Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and guest confidentiality

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical requirements of massage therapy

Schedule

This is a part-time position. Weekend availability is required, including Friday, Saturday and Sundays. Availability on holidays and during peak seasonal periods is strongly preferred.

Qualifications include:

• Must possess current license/s and certificate/s as required by the State Board
• Ability to take direction, work in a team environment, work calmly and effectively under pressure
