We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Cook / Demi-Pastry Chef de Partie to join the culinary team at Twin Farms in Barnard, Vermont.

This role is an exciting opportunity for a pastry professional who takes pride in craftsmanship, creativity, and thoughtful presentation. Working closely with our Pastry Chef and broader culinary team, you will help create memorable desserts, pastries, breads, and special touches that contribute to the exceptional dining experience our guests expect.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a wide variety of pastries, desserts, baked goods, and other pastry components in accordance with established recipes, techniques, and presentation standards.

  • Support the Pastry Chef in developing new menu items, seasonal offerings, and special preparations.

  • Maintain exceptional standards of quality, consistency, flavor, and presentation.

  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, labeling, storage, and handling procedures.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-prepared workstation throughout each shift.

  • Monitor product usage and food waste while supporting thoughtful, cost-conscious kitchen operations.

  • Collaborate closely with the pastry, culinary, and service teams to ensure smooth service and timely preparation of all pastry items.

  • Assist with the finishing, plating, and presentation of dishes for the dining room and special events.

  • Support inventory management, receiving, rotation, and organization

The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, dependable, and genuinely passionate about pastry. You enjoy working as part of a close-knit culinary team, are eager to continue learning, and understand that exceptional hospitality is often found in the smallest details.

Previous pastry or professional baking experience is preferred, particularly within a fine-dining, luxury hospitality, or high-quality restaurant environment.


  • 1-3 years of experience in a professional pastry kitchen
  • Culinary degree or diploma with a focus on pastry arts preferred
  • Current Food Handler's Certification required
  • Proficiency in various pastry techniques, including cake decorating, chocolate work, and sugar art
  • Strong knowledge of classical and modern pastry techniques
  • Understanding of flavor profiles and ingredient pairings
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Creativity and passion for pastry arts
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
