Dunton Hot Springs
Dunton Hot Springs

Assistant General Manager

Dolores

Details zum Angebot

Nestled deep in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado, Dunton Hot Springs and Dunton River Camp are two intimate Relais & Châteaux properties operated by Dunton.

Dunton Hot Springs is a restored 19th-century ghost town set around natural mineral hot springs at 8,800 feet, offering an all-inclusive, cabin-based experience rooted in authenticity and quiet luxury. Dunton River Camp, located along the Dolores River, is a seasonal luxury tented camp and Orvis-endorsed fly-fishing destination, hosting up to 16 guests each summer.

Together, the properties accommodate up to 70 guests and operate with a high degree of personalization and discretion.

We are seeking a hands-on Assistant General Manager to support both properties and work closely with ownership and the General Manager in leading daily operations and maintaining Relais & Châteaux standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Guest Experience

  • Support day-to-day oversight of both properties

  • Lead by example in delivering seamless, anticipatory service

  • Ensure excellence across rooms, food & beverage, and guest programming

  • Personally handle guest feedback and operational challenges

Team Leadership

  • Support recruitment, training, and development of seasonal and year-round teams

  • Mentor department heads and supervisors

  • Foster a culture of accountability and genuine hospitality

Financial & Administrative

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and labor management

  • Oversee cost control, inventory, and vendor relationships

  • Ensure compliance with safety, HR, and licensing requirements

The Role

This position is primarily based at Dunton Hot Springs, with involvement at River Camp during its summer season. The role requires flexibility, visibility, and a willingness to lead from the floor in a remote mountain setting.

This is not a corporate environment, but a small, high-performing team committed to delivering a deeply personal guest experience.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of senior leadership experience in luxury hospitality

  • Strong background in both Rooms and Food & Beverage operations

  • Experience in boutique, remote, or all-inclusive properties preferred

  • Financially literate and operationally confident

  • Calm, adaptable, and solutions-oriented

Experience within Relais & Châteaux or similar collections is a plus.
